Home-Start UK receives financial backing from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity
Home-Start UK who provides support to vulnerable Army families, has received a grant of £35,000 from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, which will directly help those in need through its local Home-Start schemes.
On receiving the support from The Soldiers’ Charity, Home-Start UK Chief Executive Rob Parkinson comments: “This grant will make a huge difference to Army families going through crisis and distress and who turn to us for help. Their problems are particularly complex and many mothers or fathers, quite naturally, suffer increased anxiety due to their spouse or partner being away. The support of The Soldiers’ Charity will ensure that Army families are given appropriate, tailored support through our unique home visiting service and attendance at local family groups, helping to reduce isolation, increase confidence and giving their children a better start in life.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Robin Bacon, Chief of Staff ABF The Soldiers’ Charity comments: “The difference the support from the family to a soldier makes should never be overlooked. The difficulties faced by those in the Armed Forces whilst serving is often reflected in the stresses felt by those family members who may be left at home awaiting their return. We hope that the grant to support Home-Start UK will make a difference to those who need their vital help in alleviating these stresses.”
