- Since many people now work from home here is a way to keep your home router fast, up to date and secure.
- Set security in the home router to maximum.
- Get a new home router from your communications provider every 3 years to get current hardware, software, and security.
- Make sure the IP address of the home router is set so no one can access it directly from the outside. It should use an address similar to 192.168.0.1
- Check your internet speed using speed test on the web (Type it into Google). Make sure your communications provider is giving you the download speed (Ex. 480 maps) and upload speed (Ex. 24 maps) that you paid for.
