Marketing to everyone is a naive floating abstraction.
"But that's marketing 101," you say.
You follow up with, "our company doesn't market to everyone; we market to gen z’s" ( replace gen z with any socio-economic/temporal delineated blocs.)
Brilliant.
So you must already know that targetting a bloc of people means another bloc will neither understand nor have an appreciation for your messaging. Effective marketing is exclusionary marketing. This exclusion is the part that’s not easy to accept.
Home in. To be palatable to everyone is to exist in the inconsequential dredges of digital and physical public squares.
