A Home Away from Home or a Second Home

?Some people graduate from high school around the age of 15 or 16 compared to others. I was reminded of this recently when my nephew graduated at 16 years old. A person is hardly ready to go to college or even into the world of work at that age, in my opinion. Nonetheless, I remember graduating from high school at 16 years old myself and thinking that I was ready for whatever comes next. I ended up in San Diego, a beautiful and fast-moving city in the State of California. I was not ready for the world that I found. The young people were advanced- they could drink, smoke, and seemingly do whatever they wanted. Meanwhile, the thought of me doing so brought my mother’s disapproving eyes to my mind. She only needed to look at me. In this case, it was the thought of her seeing me that deterred me. Can you imagine? Anyway, hearing about people considering Turks and Caicos as a perfect second-home destination makes me wonder if the time they spend on the island is challenging for them. I don't think it is as challenging as going into the world as a youngster, as these individuals are making a conscious decision to take this step. They are welcome!!

Growth and Development in Real Estate

?The numbers are out again, and Turks and Caicos is ahead of the pack with real estate sales. New properties have broken ground, such as the Hyatt’s luxury Andaz brand. Earlier, we mentioned The Strand and The Loren. It seems that all of the real estate companies have done well, which is something we all welcome. Businesses are doing even better at a time when inflation is high, despite other factors that may suggest the opposite effect on businesses. According to The Agency Real Estate Company, “The Turks and Caicos Real Estate Market saw an incredible Q3 in 2023, and is on track for another record year." The average sales price across the market surged by an astonishing 91% when compared to the same period in 2022.” When you look at some of what Turks and Caicos offers in the real estate category, an example being Paradiso Del Mar, which spans 24,000 square feet, the level of luxury is astounding.
