The Holy Grail for Organizational Success

The Holy Grail for Organizational Success

The landscape of business becomes ever more difficult to navigate as competition intensifies in every industry in the country. The telecom, FMCG, food, cement, banking you name it and they have it. The shrinking profit margins and the increased expectation of the ever aware customers is challenging the executive in the C- Suite perpetually.

The alchemy for success is very simple and is as following:

Increase Speed – the premise that the big will not eat the small but the fast will eat the slow is becoming a reality. The local start-ups in foods, FMCG and pharma have grown to become big conglomerates and have given global giants a run for their money in the last one and a half decade. Any organization which wants to have sustained success and continue to grow its market share would need to focus on SPEED. Be it the speed to identify and develop new products, time to market, an efficient distribution, timely reporting or even recruiting the right talent before your competition can lay their hands on it. The mantra is simple hit your target quicker and with precision.

Lower Cost- look for every opportunity to lower cost. This is mission critical making sure that every process in the organization is optimized and is driving cost efficiency. The better managed expenses you have the more cash you will have to invest in your business. Lowering of cost not necessarily means firing people or reducing quality it is just a relentless focus on innovation, challenge status quo, re-invent and re-discover everything we do. Live with the concept of questioning what we do, why we do it and how we do it every day.

Improve Results- Be bottom line centric. Remember that all efforts in an organization are driven by one purpose to make profits. Everyone is happy the employees, management, shareholders and even customer if an organization makes money. The increased money makes rewarding employees, investing in technology and getting initiatives rolled out much easier. The effects of better bottom line are evident in the organization and the life of everyone it touches. When an organization becomes bottom line focused there is a natural shift in doing everything that contributes to it. The result is improvement across the board in the way the company operates and does business.
