Holosync Side Effects

Holosync meditation program has had numerous positive reviews from various trusted reviews and ratings websites, which is a good thing.

However, there have also been nasty side effects reported by quite a number of users. And while mild side effects that occur once in a while can be accommodated, what really caught my interest was the dangerous nature of the side effects and their intensity.

Some of its users have complained that they experienced:

* Short, sharp pinches in the middle section of the head

* The restless leg syndrome, for those that have had a brain resection (also known as temporal lobe resection) for removing focus for seizures

* Occasional memory loss

Other users who have worked with it for around 3 months have made complaints about feeling dizzy, losing focus and concentration, being short-tempered, having anxiety, losing motivation to do things, having cravings, feeling distant and disconnected from the world, panicking, losing sex drive and having interrupted sleeping patterns.

As you can see from the users' feedback below, some users have had such painful headaches that they had to take painkillers to control the situation.

Moreover, when I was a content manager for a blog known as Improve Your Brain Power, I had one of our readers (identity withheld) reach out to us through social media, telling us that they were experiencing restless leg syndrome that didn't seem to go away.

Now, while not all people who have used Holosync have experienced the mentioned side effects, it is important for you to proceed with caution. Personally, when a product has the possibility of causing such advanced side effects, I usually stay away from using it.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

Plus, there are other great brainwave entrainment programs out there that offer more value than Holosync and have no side effects.

My #1 recommendation for a brainwave entrainment program for meditation, which you should consider using in place of Holosync to be free of the side effects, is Zen 12.

It is the safest (with zero side effects), the cheapest, and most convenient in terms of diverse styles of meditation. It is well-regulated for beginners, intermediate, and advanced meditators, and pretty deep and packed in terms of quality. It's actually way better than Holosync when it comes to the calming effects and peacefulness it brings.

What is Holosync?

Also known as the Awakening Prologue, Holosync is a program designed to work with audio technology that aims to help you, the person who is meditating, to get into a deeper mental state of meditation, and get to enjoy the benefits of meditation faster than you normally would.

The creators of the program claim that when you work with Holosync, you will get to meditate like a Zen monk, or perhaps more, with just the tap of a button.

Essentially, what the Holosync program does is increase neuro electrical activities in both of your brain hemispheres all at once, which leads to your brain getting into an advanced mental state of meditation, where you feel super relaxed yet alert. And this shift in mental states happens very fast, usually in minutes, if not seconds.

Based on my personal experience with programs that use similar audio technology, Holosync's approach to this technology is somewhat advanced. The audio technology that seeks to boost mental states using audios is known as Brainwave Entrainment.

And the way it's been applied to Holosync, it works perfectly for someone who has been meditating for a good deal of time. However, the program's intensity is not favorable for beginners and early intermediates as the program moves a little too fast than what their minds are able to keep up with.

That's why you're seeing many people experiencing nasty side effects after using it.

Holosync was created by Bill Harris, who is the owner of Centerpointe Research Institute, and his partner, Wes Wait. Going by the company's About page, Holosync was made with the main aim of providing people who meditate a way to benefit from traditional meditation without spending a lot of effort and time doing the practice.

Ideally, Holosync is supposed to help them make the most of the few minutes they have available to meditate. For those who have little time to spare, as well as those who want to establish the practice of meditation, Holosync is supposed to provide a good resource to achieve the goal of consistent growth and success in meditation.

How Holosync Works

As mentioned earlier, Holosync works with brain waves found in the brain to induce the meditative state of the mind, which is required when someone wants to meditate or feel focused and relaxed. This is what we refer to as Brainwave Entrainment.

It is where brain waves are tracked when someone is operating in different mental states (in this case, the meditative state), and then they are captured using advanced technological machines. The captured waves are then transferred into CDs and audios that people can listen to.

When you buy the CDs and audios and listen to them using your headphones, your brain is able to sense the wave frequencies playing in the audios and it tries to imitate the frequencies. As the imitation happens, your mental state changes and adapts to the meditative state that the frequencies of the waves you're listening to. That way, you get into the meditative state seamlessly.

Now, when it comes to brain waves, there are different types: alpha, delta, beta, and theta, among many others. I found out that Holosync works with alpha, theta, and delta brainwaves. It all begins with a high note of the alpha brain wave, then goes down to theta brain waves, and finally rests on the delta brain waves, which are meant to bring about a state of serenity, alertness, and calmness.

Holosync Levels

The Holosync program is divided into 3 main stages: Stage 1 (the Awakening stage), Stage 2 (the Purification stage), and Stage 3 (the Flowering stage). Each of the mentioned stages have 4 levels. This progressive approach to the program is meant to walk users through the increasingly deeper meditation states, which help influence growth and improvement in their meditation practice.

The "Awakening" stage is the basic foundation of the program with levels 1 through 4 crafted in a way to get users all warmed up for the Holosync experience. The 4 levels in this stage make the users aware of the impact of deep meditation and getting their brains acquainted with the audio technology that the program employs. Although, as earlier mentioned, for meditation beginners with almost no meditation experience, this approach is a bit too harsh. And that's why most users experience extreme side effects.

Moving forward, the "Purification" stage goes deeper into the meditative journey and provides four more levels designed to help the users' minds get rid of limitations and obstacles. This phase or stage is focused on reducing mental clutter and promoting inner clarity, which then prepares the users for more spiritual growth and self-discovery.

Finally, the "Flowering" stage is the peak of the Holosync experience, with its four levels aimed at boosting profound spiritual insights and personal transformation. By this stage, users have refined their meditation practice to an advanced level, and they are experiencing expanded awareness and deeper meditation states.

The progression through each level of Holosync is like that of traditional practices of ancient Indian Rishis, who would slowly increase the intensity of their meditation practices to deepen their experience.

Can Holosync Help You Experience Meditation The Way a Zen Monk Does?

While Holosync provides a unique approach to meditation through brainwave technology, some users are left wondering if they can really get to experience meditation just as deeply as Zen monks do.

To be honest, the first few levels of Holosync don't work with gamma waves, which are visible in Zen monks. Although, deep breathing and meditation with a slight boost of Holosync may help with that.

But it's worth noting that it's not Holosync that directly induces the gamma waves. The practices of deep breathing and meditation are the ones responsible for that. Holosync only helps you do the practices better which, in turn, brings the gamma waves.

Nonetheless, keep in mind that Holosync's advanced levels like the "Awakening" level 3 does have the Gamma Compassion track.

How to Use Holosync

To get to benefit from Holosync, you will only need to get your pair of headphones and plug them into your ears. And then press play on the Holosync CDs.

Meditate as you listen to the Holosync CDs so that the brainwave entrainment can be put into action and help you get into the meditative state quicker.

In about half an hour, your brain waves will align themselves with the frequencies of the waves in the Holosync music, and you should notice yourself becoming calmer, relaxed, and awake.

You're directed to listen to Holosync for only 30 minutes as that is believed to be sufficient to experience the effects it brings.

Cons

1. Short-Term Effects at Lower Levels: Initial levels of Holosync may yield short-lived effects, with the centered and peaceful feeling disappearing within a few hours. However, long-term users have reported more sustainable benefits as they progress through the program.

2. Potentially Dangerous Side Effects: Individuals with mood disorders or a tendency toward moodiness may experience subconscious upheaval due to the focus on delta brainwave states, highlighting the importance of mindfulness and self-awareness during the meditation process. Also, as earlier mentioned in the "Side Effects" section, there's a possibility of users to experience threatening side effects.

3. Perceived Complexity: While the multiple levels of Holosync offer a progressive approach to meditation, some users may perceive the program's depth as overwhelming or daunting.

4. Dedication, Determination, and Commitment: Dedication to the program requires a significant time commitment, with users advised to allocate an hour each day for meditation sessions.

5. Higher Cost: Compared to standard meditation practices, Holosync can be pricey, especially as users progress to deeper levels of the program (where they have pay hundreds of dollars for each of the next levels), potentially presenting a financial barrier to entry for some individuals.

6. Inflexible Instructions: Adherence to clear instructions is essential for effective use of Holosync, as failure to do so may lead to overstimulation or undesirable outcomes during meditation sessions.

Holosync Customer Reviews

While some users have reported positive results with the Holosync program, a good deal of other users have experienced negative effects. Despite promising benefits such as deep meditation levels and inner peace, some individuals have encountered challenges such as resurfacing negative emotions, serious side effects, and even mood disturbances.

On Trustpilot, a well-known review platform where people share their personal experiences with various programs, Holosync has garnered an overall rating of 2.6 out of 5 stars from 10 people. This rating suggests a mixed reception among users, with feedback having very few positive experiences and many concerns about effectiveness and side effects.

Here are a few customer experiences reported on the platform.

As you can see, there's a possibility you may experience extreme side effects (the severe effect on short term memory), although it's not a guarantee. I don't know about you, but when I'm making a purchase decision, one of the factors at the top of my priority list is a product that's guaranteed to work and that's also very safe. And to be honest, Holosync doesn't seem to offer much of those two crucial factors.

And here is another user who used the program for a while and later on decided it was not a good fit for her, so she decided to stop using it (Credits: Transcendzen - Poonan).

My #1 Recommendation

While Holosync offers a comprehensive program with numerous resources and options tailored for experienced meditators, it falls short when it comes to safety of use. Although not everyone may experience these effects, it's essential to be mindful of your body's unique response to the program. Since there's no way to be sure that you won't get the side effects, the fact that each of our bodies reacts differently raises concern about the likelihood of you suffering the side effects.

Additionally, the pricing of Holosync may pose a barrier for some individuals, despite the value it provides. Yes, the flexible payments help ease the burden a little but if you had the option of paying a small price as a one-time payment for a program that offers just as much as value as Holosync, if not more, I'm sure you'd take it, right?

Well, you can do just that with a program that's not only way safer than Holosync but also very well-priced.

If you want a meditation-based brainwave entrainment program that comes without the risk of side effects and which is also very affordable, I recommend exploring Zen 12. This alternative has superior quality, convenience, and a variety of entrainment styles that caters to your varying needs.

Also, if you can't just meditate for a whole 30 minutes straight due to your schedule or you feel you're too much of a beginner to stretch your mind that far, then Zen 12 works well as it only requires 12 minutes of your time. With the shorter duration of just 12 minutes per session, Zen 12 delivers comparable benefits to Holosync in a condensed format. Having personally experienced Zen 12, I can attest to its effectiveness and profound impact on my meditation practice.

If you're interested in exploring Zen 12 further, I encourage you to check out my detailed Zen 12 review. I'm confident you'll find it to be a valuable addition to your meditation routine.

Other Alternatives to Holosync

Let's have a closer look at other similar brainwave-based programs like Holosync in the market right now and how they compare to Holosync.

Comparing iAwake Profound 3.0 to Holosync:

iAwake Profound 3.0 meditations offer sessions of 20 minutes each, similar to Holosync, but with effects that may not endure throughout the day, necessitating multiple sessions. While both programs automate the meditation process, iAwake Profound 3.0 may be preferable for those seeking relaxation due to its affordability and inclusion of multiple levels in one package. Additionally, iAwake Profound 3.0 employs superior technology and includes brainwaves like gamma and epsilon for users ready to explore them.

Brain Evolution System (Brainev) vs. Holosync:

The Brain Evolution System, which is my second personal favorite program after Zen 12, offers 30-minute meditation sessions that exercise the brain in a manner akin to traditional meditation. Unlike Holosync, which offers minimal resources, the Brain Evolution System utilizes nature sounds with pattern interrupts to enhance focus development. With a lasting feeling of centeredness throughout the day, this program is ideal for mindfulness seekers. Despite its challenging nature, the Brain Evolution System's 30-minute duration and six levels make it entirely worthwhile.

Transcendental Meditation (TM) vs. Holosync:

While meditating with Holosync is effortless compared to Transcendental Meditation (TM), which can feel burdensome, especially in noisy environments, TM may offer longer-lasting effects due to its brain-exercising technique. It's worth noting, however, that despite its potential benefits, TM's reliance on mantra-based techniques may prove hit or miss, leading to inconsistent results. In contrast, Holosync's automation makes the meditation process more accessible, though with potential trade-offs in long-term benefits.

Essentially, Holosync is a strong contender when it comes to its competitiveness on the market. However, some programs like Zen 12 and The Brain Evolution System give it a good deal of competition.

And that concludes my review of the Holosync program.

I hope I answered all your questions about it. If you have any further or follow-up questions about Holosync or brainwave entrainment in general, feel free to leave them in the comments below—I'm here to help where I can. Cheers. :)
