What were your responsibilities during your internship?

“I spent most of my time at HoloHouse designing and updating sustainability e-learning courses. ?I also had the opportunity to design a company-specific sustainability course. There are always new ways to get involved and learn something new. For example, I learned a lot about Google Ads through setting up some campaigns, learned to work with Figma through designing some content for social media.

I was also able to attend several events through HoloHouse, including ?ACT Sustainable, ?Framtiden V?stra G?taland, and H?llbart N?ringsliv. These types of activities are ideal for expanding your professional network and meeting people from various industries.”

Why did you apply for an internship at HoloHouse?

“I was always interested in IT and digitalization. Since moving to Sweden, my interest in sustainable development has grown, but I only had a basic understanding of it at the time. I discovered the HoloHouse advertisement on the GU portal and researched the projects the company provided. I decided to apply after seeing the variety of projects and reasoning that there might be something suitable for me. Even before I began my master’s degree in IT and Learning, I knew I wanted to work in e-learning. Already within the first day I heard back on my application which was amazing!

Together with HoloHouse we were able to define the internship tasks and objectives in a way that they were suitable for my degree, interesting and at the same time suitable for HoloHouse as well. As a result, ?I was able to work with sustainability ?e-learning courses, put my knowledge into practise, and learn a lot about e-learning design. HoloHouse is fantastic at working with students. Their open-minded approach, flexibility, and support made my time at HoloHouse enjoyable and productive, and I hope to work with them again for my master’s thesis.”

What do you take away from your internship?

First and foremost, experience and knowledge. I learned a lot about Articulate 360 software and the applications that are part of it. I learned a lot about designing for learning and can see the improvements myself when I compare the learning material I produced at the start and at the end of my internship. Being a part of a real working environment and taking responsibility for my deliverables has given me confidence and a good level of preparation for continuing my professional life.

When it comes to collaboration, I learned to appreciate working with other people. I always preferred to work on tasks individually. However, collaboration is such a great way to learn something new and come up with creative ideas when input from everyone is pieced together into one like a puzzle.
