Accounting for Valueflows and Regeneration Reimagined

In this exclusive interview, Prof. McCarthy talks about the future of accounting and REA, explaining how traditional systems struggle to track value flows and support environmental practices.

Designing Regenerative Systems to Nurture Collective Thriving

Join Ché Coelho and Ross Eyre, co-founders of Arkology Studio, as they discuss regenerative systems with Mary. They share how interdependence and circularity can reshape technology to support collective thriving.

“Regenerative systems are living systems. And living systems tend to be characterized by things like circular value flows. It's like recycling, nutrients and resources, and energy. They tend to be diverse, and there’s a diversity of forms that allows it to adapt to complex, changing environments. And evolution in that, I think, is learning about information and feedback loops.”—Ross Eyre

How the World Is Shifting to Regenerative Economics

Mary Camacho and Pete Corke, Director of Vision & Leadership at Kwaxala, discuss how regenerative economics can counterbalance extractive models.

“Currently, most of our economics related to natural resources revolve around removing something from the environment. What if we could build economic systems based on living nature?”—Mary Camacho on LinkedIn

Kwaxala is an Indigenous-led and majority-owned regenerative initiative transforming endangered forests into protected investments. Don't miss this insightful conversation!

??? Ecosystem Stories

We're excited about the new Holochain app "Moss"! It's a home for you and your groups to create spaces where you can work and play together. Eric Harris-Braun and the Lightningrod Labs team have been working for a while on Moss (previously called We), and since February, they've added some cool new tools. It's still in the early stages, but if you want to give it a try, download Moss, check out the integrated applets, and read the spec to see how tools in The Weave are designed to fit together seamlessly.

If you're part of the Holochain ecosystem and haven't checked out the "What's hAppening?" newsletter yet, you're missing out! They share fun and interesting monthly stories about Holochain and the Web3 ecosystem. It's definitely worth a read!

?? From Fellow Travelers?

This Verge interview with Jay Graber, CEO of Bluesky, came across my desk today. As an early member of the Bluesky working group, I'm excited to see this protocol — and the company around it — take off. While we may have different views about the role of centralised infrastructure, I really love their commitment to uncapturable user data and experiences that users and communities can customise.” —Paul d'Aoust
