I wake up at 5 am to watch the sunrise every morning because I choose to

And you know what??

I've never regretted waking up early to get to work on a visionary task.

To me, it's a form of self-care.

I choose to go to the gym at least 4 times a week.?

Not just for my physical health.?

And not just for my mental wellbeing and focus.?

But it's to increase my endorphins, productivity and energy.

So I can be the best business owner, leader and mum I can be.?

I choose to only have meetings two days a week, so I can spend my time with my daughter.

In the past, I’d take calls from people at 4:30am in the morning and 9 pm.?

This was not the lifestyle I wanted to live.

So I put very specific boundaries in place because I choose to create the routine and lifestyle I want to live!?

I work on my most important tasks when my 9-month-old sleeps. (2 hours or so a day)?

That means I have to be productive if I want to stay focused?

I don't have time to stuff around without a clear SOP for each timeclock.

I choose to read every night for 20-30 minutes.?

Not because it’s a ‘good habit' time clock

But because I want to finish the day with something positive so my subconscious can dwell on the good things from the day.?

Focus goes, energy flows.?

Where will you put your focus today?

It's a great trigger I have been doing now for 4 years to get to sleep.

I have trained my body to associate reading with bedtime.?

I have quality sleep and fall asleep a lot faster.

Anyway, these are just habits in my routine I choose to do because I want to!

I know if I don't wake up at 5 am I won't get that time to myself?

I know if I miss the gym I'll be left feeling tired

I know if I take meetings outside my two days, I’m not putting my foot down to the life I want to live.

I know If I don’t read before bed, it's not the end of the world but I know I’ll get to sleep faster and on a more positive note.

I only read non-fiction btw.

The habits you create will be your saving grace in times you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or confused.?

Habits give you structure, fun, and a better quality of life!?

It’s time to stop seeing habits as a disciplinary thing?

Or something you need to stay consistent in

It's time to see it as a way to improve your life and make it easier.?

Not adding more to your plate right now.?

Discipline and consistency will come when you choose the right habits.?

Does eating ice cream or chocolate come easily to you??

Sometimes too easy.?

But too much of it can have negative effects

Choosing the right habits and changing your mindset to see it as a piece of chocolate every day…

A treat, something enjoyable and life-changing.?

It makes sticking to habits so much more enjoyable and easy!?

I have done this also for several years. I get up at between 4-5am every day, then do a 3 hour round hike to watch sunrise 5 or 6 days a week weather permitting, even in winter. One has far more energy and focus.
