In a habit cycle you have:?

  1. Cue?
  2. Routine?
  3. Reward?

To build a successful habit discipline is required to stay consistent. It’s all about the repetitions of an action for it to become a habit and then part of your lifestyle.

Firstly the routine doesn't matter and the cue and the reward are linked.

When we start building a habit our brain automatically is triggered by a cue and the brain goes straight to the reward.??

For example:?

Cue: Alarm goes off?

Routine: Snoozing it?

Reward: getting more sleep?

So to break a bad habit and change the routine you need to create a trigger.?

The trigger is an action step that becomes a habit in itself to break the routine and change your outlook on the reward.?

For example:

Cue: Alarm goes off?

Routine (aka the trigger): Drink a glass of water, use the 3,2,1 method and get up

Reward: You’re not falling behind?

So let me aks you this…
