Recently I wrote a piece for Perceptive Travel which focuses on two great books, along with a range of links to more articles with great book recommendations.
The two books at the center of the piece:
What's Next? which offers not only a backstage pass to the making of the television series The West Wing but a consideration of how government work as service informed the show through its run, along with many thoughtful sections on how ideas of service continue to work in the lives of cast and crew.
Coming Home, which comprises essays, poetry, and reflection from musician Cara Dillon. Dillon is a renown folk musician and songwriter. This sort of writing was new to her though, something she developed during lockdown without though she'd make a book; she wanted to get memories and reflections of her time growing up in Northern Ireland and how these connect to her family. A thoughtful and thought provoking book (great photographs as well) There is an album to go along too.
... and there is a basket of links to article with recommendations for other fine books at the bottom of the piece, too.
Here is that story in full
