?The winter holiday season is a wonderful opportunity to spend great times with family and friends.?At MediaGrowth, our Norwegian traditions include lots of cookies.?We thought it would be fun to share a favorite recipe for one of the simplest and best...

?Spritz!?

Here's the family recipe...

?2 1/4 cups floor

3/4 cups sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 cup shortening - butter (salted)

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla or almond extract

?1.?Sift flour, sugar & baking powder together in a bowl.

2.?With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until very fine lumps.

3.?Measure egg in measuring cup.?A large egg is 1/4 cup.?If not,?add water to 1/4 cup.

4.?Add egg & vanilla to bowl & beat mixture very well.

5.?Fill cookie press. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheet.?

6.?Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

7.?Remove at once to cooling racks.?

8.?Add sprinkles or dip in melted chocolate.

Makes 5-6 dozen cookies??
