Holiday Celebrations in Orlando
For those who are Orlando-bound for the holidays, there is a dilemma of decisions to be made as to which theme parks to visit -Walt Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld and Legoland. Each theme park celebrates the holidays in grand fashion with parades, ceremonies, and an endless array of festivities offering traditional content as well as new themes.
Those who opt to go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will find Sunset Boulevard and at Universal expect Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. On Sunset Boulevard visitors will see the area come alive with snowflakes and Disney characters telling Christmas stories on projections against the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Over at Universal, Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure will celebrate with activities including holiday songs, merry treats and drinks, and a holiday wrap projection onto Hogswarts Castle. The festivities run from November 18-January 6.
Past the park activities, there’s Orlando’s Winter Park Parade, celebrating its 65th anniversary on December 2nd and the Singing Christmas Tree extravaganza at First Baptist Church with performances throughout December 8-17.
Another option is "The Nutcracker" performance at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center.
