Holding Space

Holding Space

Remembering the Value of Human Connection

July is a funny month for a number of reasons. ?

It's a time when many of us take a break, spend time with family, and reconnect with our lives outside of work. ?

During this season, something shifts that feels more important than ever before:We hold space for the human-ness of it all.

In our increasingly virtual world, there's a moment that often goes unnoticed. It's the two to five minutes right when a virtual meeting starts.

We have a choice.? We can dive straight into work, or we can take a moment to acknowledge each other, ask how we're doing, and genuinely connect.

Thanks to AI, my team, and a variety of tools, my work has become more efficient. But the one thing I never want to automate is the core of why I do this work: connecting on a human scale.

It's a small gesture to start a conversation with an honest "How are you doing?" or "What have you been up to lately?" Yet, these moments are the ones that allow us to truly know each other.

As we become more virtual, we risk missing the moments that foster genuine connections. It's important to pause and hold space for these interactions. Whether it's talking about the changing seasons, sharing what's growing in our gardens, discussing our latest cooking experiments, or catching up on how our kids are doing, these conversations matter. ?

In a world where efficiency and automation are prized, let's not forget the value of human connection. Taking a moment to hold space and share can make all the difference in our work and personal lives.

So, as we move through July and beyond, let's commit to holding space for each other, fostering genuine connections, and embracing the humaneness that makes our work meaningful. ?

Thank you for being part of our community. Here’s to making meaningful connections and holding space for each other in all that we do. ?

Wishing you a warm and connected July.

Over the past 9 months, we’ve been working with coach, author, and speaker Dr. Gertrude Lyons. She’s been doing the hard work of rebranding herself into the person she is, versus the person she was when she started her business. At the end of last month we celebrated with her community as she officially launched the new brand and website, as well as turning in the first draft of her book to her editor.?Dr. Gertrude’s signature work, Rewrite the Mother Code?, is centered on instilling a deep-seated belief in every individual's intrinsic value, affirming they are whole and complete, divine children of the universe. Her work is deeply impactful and she is already touching so many women seeking this self-affirmation.?It’s an exciting time and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Check out Dr. G’s new brand and website and give her a shout!

Yes! This so resonates with me. A question I have been asking myself for years is how can business become more human focused? I think this underlines the importance of taking moments to connect person to person especially in a remote world. I know I feel re-energized when I take a moment to reconnect with people - be it a colleague, client, friend, family, or person standing in line at a coffee shop. Thank you for the reminder.
