Hold on to the stability of God's word

Psalm 119:160 All your words are true;?all your righteous laws are eternal.

What can you count on these days? Styles and trends change all the time (it's almost like someone wants us to keep buying more stuff?!?). The stock market is one bad headline away from having a bad day (or year). Culture changes with societal desires. Politicians promise the moon and deliver... well... less than that. Many people I know thought they had job security, until they didn't. I am not writing this to depress you, but to say that what we put our hope in matters. Often our disappointments are linked to the places we try to anchor our security too. This is not to say these things are bad, but if my attitude and security are linked to things that are not secure or dependable, then I will sentence myself to a life of insecurity and potential disappointment. The world around me is and will change, but I have the assurance that in the middle of the chaotic spin cycle that is life, God is stable, righteous and true. I can count on His words and look forward to the certainty of eternity. As the world moves at the speed of cultural change and fashion trends, hold on to the stability of God's word and have a blessed day!
