Hold Off on the Spice ??

Hold Off on the Spice ??

I can’t tolerate spicy food. You’re right, I’m Latina, but that doesn't mean I eat everything “picante” ?(btw, not every Latin culture makes their food burn your mouth). I can’t count the times I had to swallow the whole piece after the first bite revealed it was about to kill me. The other option was to spit it out, and that’s so not me.

That’s the thing,“hot” or “picante” food can be deceptive. It can look totally harmless and even yummy, but once you put it in your mouth, could be so intense that you’re not able to feel your mouth after and probably for the rest of the day.

I don’t believe in overstimulating our senses to add “taste” to food, but I do believe in adding spices. This is a completely different, concept and you can taste the difference.?

The use of spices requires a recipe––we can also call it a strategy. We need to know what taste (and outcome) we want to achieve.?

This is not a task for a newbie. It requires the experience of knowing what spice tastes like and how to combine them, but the fascinating part is that we can always explore more, and based on the basic recipe, we can change some quantities of the species to modify the outcome.

When you have the basic ingredients of your recipe aligned, you can always make some tweaks to improve the taste. But remember that if you change the basic ingredients, that would mean making another dish––a new dish.?

Look at this!?

What a coincidence!?

The same happens with marketing. We can improve performance by changing some of our spices. But the strategy needs to be respected to be able to measure results. After all, remember that consistency is crucial––it’s queen––and if you change your strategy you won’t be able to analyze what worked and what will not.

But whatever you do, remember to hold off on the spice, putting too much could take away from what’s important or leave a bad taste in your mouth.?
