?Hola! myChart Patient Portal Now in Espa?ol

A Spanish version of our enterprise-wide patient portal, myChart, is now available – both in the web-based application and the mobile app. Spanish is the most prevalent language among non-English speaking UMass Memorial Health patients. Offering myChart in Spanish reduces disparities and allows our Spanish-speaking patients to better navigate our health system and stay informed.?

While about 14,300 patients whose preferred language is Spanish have a myChart account, approximately 60,600 patients whose preferred language is Spanish do not have a myChart account. Offering myChart to these patients in their preferred language may encourage them to sign up for myChart.

“Having myChart available in Spanish is critical to our health equity mission. It allows us to better communicate with Spanish-speaking patients in a way that not only allows more timely updates on labs and/or their health conditions but will also engender more trust with our health system. This is a critical step in our quest to eliminate racial and ethnic health care disparities at UMass Memorial Health,” stated Arvin Garg, MD, MPH , Associate Chief Quality Officer for Health Equity, UMass Memorial Health.?

The rollout of myChart Spanish sets the stage for myChart to be translated into other languages in the future.
