On June 18th I will brush up on my Spanish and fly across the Atlantic to meet some of the most brilliant minds of the Spanish ecosystem at ScaleUpSpain in Madrid.

Spain, particularly Madrid and Barcelona, has become an innovation hub, generating some of the most original entrepreneurial efforts that we have seen in the last few years. Why? Because of the economic crisis that the country faced has compelled young people to look for other ways out of unemployment. Spain is a mixture of European method and Latin passion- or maybe it’s just that their perfect weather sparks creativity. At any rate, today, Spain has the potential to be the next premier startup hub in Europe.

Due to the new entrepreneurial hub that Spain has developed we decided to pair up with our friends at VentureOut to organize ScaleUpSpain. ScaleUpSpain is unique in its' speakers, content and structure. These bright Spanish entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to connect with savvy and accomplished venture capitalists, startup founders and technology leaders from the US and to learn from their experiences.

This will also be an unparalleled opportunity for our audience to interact with the speakers, among whom are CEOs, CROs and founders of some of the most successful companies in the innovation ecosystem, an opportunity that most small or new companies seldom get. Usually, events that feature this kind of high-level speakers are closed and invitation only, but we cannot share the knowledge and expand innovation if the only people allowed in the club are the people who already have the knowledge. This is the basic premise behind ScaleUpSpain: an event open to the public, pushing the local tech community to network and learn from individuals who understand how to scale startups.
