HoD Mutlaneng & SMT Reflect on 2024 Performance

Today, the HoD for the Department of Infrastructure Development, Masabata Mutlaneng chaired the final Senior Management Team meeting for the year. The HoD focused on governance, performance, budget, compliance and the overall core business of the Department.

According to HoD Mutlaneng, “Today we are going to focus on governance, performance, budget, compliance issues and the projects. As we close the calendar year, I conducted many sites to have a sense of what happens onsite. We are experiencing many project challenges. We need to change the image of the DID. We need to do ?what? we can with what we have. We need to write a completely different story about ourselves. Let us change the narrative by changing our attitudes and the energy we put towards our projects. This SMT meeting will give us an opportunity to share the lessons. It is important that we take note of the lessons learned.”

HoD Mutlaneng discussed the gains of the iDEP system in the attainment of transparent project management, “It is no longer business as usual. There is no doubt that we are building quality infrastructure. We are high performers. We will deliver projects on time, within budget and of the required quality.”

The SMT agenda included the discussion of financial and non-financial performance, compliance and? the risk management plan. ?Additional reports received included a discussion on the DID’s elevated priorities, iDEP, projects in distress and the Johannesburg Central Business District revitalization roll out.
