Will HMRC extend the IR35 Reforms to the Private Sector?
Only NumberMill has PROTECT
Our contacts at HMRC and discussions at a recent Accountax seminar lead us to believe that the IR35 reforms may be extended to the Private Sector in April 2019
Despite the fact that the IR35 reforms in the public sector have been chaotic, it looks like HMRC are still intent on extending the reforms to the Private sector and it may be as soon as April 2019.
We are likely to get a strong indication when Philip Hammond announces the Budget on October 29th, 2018
Over the years, NM have come to realize that HMRC's appetite for reforms despite their commercial impact on business knows no boundaries. Over the past 4 years, we have seen Offshore intermediaries legislation, Onshore legislation Section 44 re self-employment affecting CIS, travel and subsistence reforms to IR35 in the Public Sector, so it would be foolish to ignore the writing on the wall.
NumberMill's experience cannot be matched
As we have navigated these legislative changes over the last few years we have extensive experience of the commercial impact that such legislation can have on our clients;
· Blanket bans
· Supply chain contract changes
· High volume swings in to alternative payment services - sadly often tax evasion schemes
· Reduced contractor loyalty and moving to agencies who will allow non-compliant working
· Retrospective tax reclaim
· Employment tribunals where contractors are paying full employment taxes but without gaining employment rights
What can NumberMill do to help?
