PURPOSE OF AN HMI

HMIs?allow operators to start and stop cycles, adjust set points, and perform other functions required to adjust and interact with a control process. Because the HMI is software-based, they replace physical wires and controls with software parameters, allowing them to be adapted and adjusted very easily.

HMI DISPLAY AND CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE

HMI?products often referred to as “touch screen displays”, contain?HMI?hardware and corresponding dedicated picture configuration software. In general, different manufacturers of HMI hardware use different picture configuration software, and the main type of equipment is connected to PLC.

General configuration software supports a very wide range of equipment, such as a variety of PLC, PC board cards, instrumentation, inverter, modules, and other equipment, and because the PC hardware platform performance is strong (mainly reflected in the?speed and storage capacity), general configuration software function is also much stronger, suitable for a large monitoring system.

OPERATING SYSTEM IN HMI DISPLAY PRODUCTS

Any HMI?product has a system software part, the system software runs in the?processor of the HMI display, supports the multitask processing function, and the processor needs to have the small operating system management system software to run.?In the high-performance HMI?products based on the tablet computer, Windows, WinCE, Linux, and other general embedded operating systems are generally used.
