#hm19 // Ready in a jiffy: Fast Connect minimises assembly and installation work

It often takes kilometres of cables to connect modules and machines. Assembly time can be cut by up to 50 per cent with LAPP’s Fast Connect system. The system’s specially matched components and a unique cable design offer decisive installation and assembly advantages over other cables.

Connections where space is limited, in harsh conditions or at lofty heights – wherever it is, cable connection assembly has to be quick and, above all, simple. In addition, the components must always be available and must be delivered quickly.

 LAPP’s Fast Connect data lines in accordance with Cat. 6A dispense with pair shielding thanks to a separator cross that keeps the four pairs of wires apart and also special inner sheathing. This means that, unlike with conventional cables, there is no need to remove a foil shield from each of four pairs of wires. This special cable design reduces the assembly time by up to 50 per cent. What’s more, the Fast Connect cables meet all the shielding requirements.

 Simple assembly in just a few steps

The time required can be further reduced by using FC STRIP, our stripping tool that optimally prepares a cable for connector assembly in a single step. As a result, both cable sheaths can be effortlessly removed in just five seconds on-site in literally any location. The connector assembly is then easy in practice too – untwist and smooth down the wire pairs, insert into the colour-coded wire manager and crimp. Then prepare the connector, insert the wire manager, press the half shells together and screw tight. This is the way to assemble things – quickly, safely and reliably.
