Welcome to HLWF? Alliance's newsletter - HLWF? Anthologies. We could not think of a better week than National Public Health Week to launch our newsletter!

We started HLWF? Alliance almost a year ago. HLWF? Alliance, helmed by Rashmi Rao, is a non-profit of women leaders that embodies a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, integrating HLWF? (H-Health, L-Lifesciences, W-Wellness, F-Fitness) sectors.

HLWF? Alliance’s mission is to change who transforms our healthcare and well-being, through inclusivity and dialogue. We believe that stories we tell become the world we live in. The world becomes more intelligent when it is more inclusive. The best ideas and opinions, regardless of where they come from, should have a chance to be heard and to change the world. We value a radically inclusive society that moves us toward equity, access and well-being. We do this by accelerating the ideas and impact of underrepresented thinkers, especially women leaders from all aspects of the healthcare and wellness ecosystem.

We aim to inform, educate, empower.

Editorial Reflections

Facing the challenge of uniting diverse health and wellness experts within HLWF? Alliance, our key hurdle was fostering collaboration among professionals with varied backgrounds - physicians, clinicians, wellness experts, healers and fitness coaches and their views in a singular platform. Our approach to tackling complex issues, was creating a community where personal lived experiences and professional insights intersect. These narratives, grounded us and enabled us to see ourselves in each other’s stories, reassuring us that we’re not navigating our journeys alone.

·?????Addressing silos and bridging knowledge and information gaps: Amid complexity of healthcare models that sometimes prioritize the system over patients and professionals, by offering healthcare and wellbeing experts in various domains an opportunity to communicate and collaborate, we have created a platform to discover unmet healthcare needs that might have been traditionally ignored, ensuring voices of women (100%), BIPOC (67%), and LGBTQ+ (32%) are heard, with 78% of the women authors being first-time publishers on the Medium platform.

·?????? Operationalizing change exactly where we are: Bootstrapping with philanthropic capital, HLWF? Alliance has been able to create momentum in our local communities as evidenced by the depth and breadth of thought leadership that has been created by our members in our inaugural year.?

  • Published perspectives and generated thought leadership that have generated 110+ women authored articles with 800,000 views, 508 citations, and 109 references in altimetric (Medium, LinkedIn)?
  • Participation of 37% of AAPI, 27% Black etc. demographic in the community.
  • Published unique papers that are addressed by less than 0.5% of the current publications - at the intersection of healthcare, climate change, workforce health, organizational behavior, caregiving, techquity - while also lending a voice to those often underrepresented in these conversations.
