This 221,000 lb. (100.5 Tons) boiler arrived at a northern Wisconsin paper mill by a dual-lane suspension beam trailer. Then offloaded by a tandem pick with two x 225 Ton cranes to a 6-line self-propelled SPMT.
The boiler was driven onsite to a very tight opening for a 2nd floor boiler room for which a special 50-foot (15 meter) ramp was constructed. Offloaded by jack-n-slide method to rails and slid east 100 feet (30 meters) and then south 75 feet onto its pad centerlines. The project took about 3 days to perform once the over-the-road trailer arrived on site without incident.
