Hittite Lineage of Huang Di
The origin of Huang Di's mythology is unclear, but historians have formulated several hypotheses about it.
The Yellow Emperor, also known as the Yellow Thearch or by his Chinese name Huang Di (黃帝) is a legendary Chinese Monarch who supposedly ruled before the Xia dynasty (c. 2070–1600 BC), a significant figure in Chinese mythology and is often considered a cultural hero or patron Saint of Daoism in the Warring States period (c. 475–221 BC), and one of the legendary ancestors of the Chinese people.
According to various myths and historical texts, Huang Di is credited with many achievements, including the establishment of Chinese civilization, advancements in agriculture, medicine, and governance, to name a few…
There are several variations as to who constitute the various "Three Sovereigns and Seven Emperors." According to the Diwang Xishi (帝王世紀) or Record of Imperial Lineages, also called the 'Sovereign Series' in English, the three Sovereigns were, in chronological sequence: Fuxi, Shennong and Huang Di. The same source lists the five Emperors, again chronologically, as: Shaohao, Zhuanxu, Gaoxin, Yao and Shun.
Huang Di is traditionally said to be the son of a figure known as Fuxi also known as Fu Hsi or Fu Xi (伏羲), although the specifics of this lineage can vary across different texts. In some versions, he is described as being born from a divine source or as having a Celestial father.
Dr. Ong Hean-Tatt, a foremost authority on Chinese Culture, argues that Fu Hsi is the same "first Emperor" as the first King of the Hittites/Mesopotamia Adam who was originally "Adapa," and asserts that the Chinese Pakua’s eight diagrams system (the Octagon) is the same as the Hittite Winged Disc, which has eight points. He further questions: Could the Bagua of Bazi Quan (China's oldest martial art of "white lion boxing" be a reference to the original Hittite traditions of Teshub?
In summary, while Huang Di is not typically described as a direct descendant of Fuxi and Nuwa in all texts, as third of ancient China's mythological Emperors, he is part of the larger mythological tapestry that includes them in the broader narrative of the Five Emperors, a group of legendary rulers in ancient China.
The narratives surrounding these figures emphasize the continuity of civilization and the divine origins of the Chinese people, suggesting a symbolic lineage rather than a strictly genealogical one.
In Chinese mythology, Fuxi, was the First Sovereign and the first mythical Emperor, creator God, and cultural hero of Chinese history, also known as "Tai Hao" during the Han Dynasty, which translates as ''The Great Bright One,'' His birth was believed to occur in the 29th century BC.
Fuxi and Nuwa are considered the original progenitors of humanity in Chinese mythology. They are often depicted as siblings or husband and wife, and they played essential roles in shaping human civilization. Fuxi is credited with inventing hunting, fishing, and the domestication of animals, while Nuwa is associated with the creation of humanity, music, and repairing the sky…
