The best thing about hitting rock bottom in Life is that you are left with only one way to go and that's up. The worst thing is when you decide to stay in the darkest hole.
Some of the experiences you feel when you begin your spiral down the rock bottom road:
- Miserable
- Being hit by ton of bricks
- Biggest Crisis in your Life
- Everything you try, takes you from bad to worse.
- Helpless
- Lose Focus
- Feel Stuck
- Feel busy but not productive
- Lose control of your senses
- Procrastination
- Worst phase
When you are on the spiral towards the worst, you do not have time to stop, think or reflect. You might have already started working in sub-conscious state (auto-pilot mode) and have little control in Life. But if you have not realised this state, chances are that the spiral can cause burnout and chronic stress. Sooner your realization comes, the better it is for you.
It is Important to realise that there is nothing that can be changed about past actions. Only Lessons can be learnt to not repeat the same mistake. You might be anxious about future. You need to realise that there is no point in worrying about something which is not in your control. Take necessary actions on what you can control or what can help. There is no point in worrying without taking any action.
By the way, there is one good thing if you have realised that you have hit rock bottom. It can't get worse and the only way is up. There can be some good outcomes from this state of mind, if you explore. You are finally out of auto-pilot mode. Only in those moments of hollowness you realise your vulnerabilities, weaknesses, bad habits, mistakes, limitations, develop empathy and humility. It gives you a fresh perspective in life. It gives you a chance to grow. This is when you get to see your inner transformation. Life gives you a chance to reinvent. You get a chance to take control of your life. Since you have already seen the rock bottom, nothing can hurt you more in life. It leaves you with richer experiences in life and makes you a wiser person. You will have learnt some valuable life lessons.
For some people hitting rock bottom can happen in cycles, every time they hit rock bottom, they vow to not let this happen again, but it keeps happening again and again, harder and harder. This is because Life is such a great teacher, that if you do not learn a lesson, it will repeat it.
