Not Hitting A Goal? Quit. Just Long Enough To Read This & Discover What's Holding You Back & What To Do About It.

Would you like to take a giant leap toward one of your goals or dreams today? Then be a quitter. Let me help you by giving you a list of things to choose from. Just one of these will help you move forward dramatically.

  • Quit putting everyone else first
  • Quit putting off going after a dream or goal
  • Quit looking for support from the wrong crowd
  • Quit letting self-limiting beliefs stop you
  • Quit stopping yourself from dreaming
  • Quit agreeing with the negative thoughts/voice in your head
  • Quit feeling powerless
  • Quit thinking you are alone
  • Quit beating yourself up over 'failure'
  • Quit thinking it is too late
  • Quit putting unrealistic expectations on yourself
  • Quit thinking you're the only one that doesn't have it all together
  • Quit thinking you're automatically supposed to be successful in every single area of your life once you're crushing it in one area
  • Quit putting yourself in a box
  • Quit comparing you or anything about your life to anyone else

Sounds easy enough, doesn't it?

Just stop thinking those things.

But it isn't easy.

In fact, changing your thought patterns is one of the hardest habits to break and make.

The culprit is our brain.

That big grey mass is trying to protect you. Although we don't see it that way, it is.

The way to work with your brain is through recognition. Because if you tell it not to think those things it will pretty much double down.

We are going to reframe the whole situation and thought process.

Ready? Let's go!

1. Identify what your brain is trying to protect you from.

Let's say one of the quit statements is around you launching a new blog. Deep down, or even right there on the surface, you may have fears. It won't be successful, no one will read it, no one like it, you won't know what to say, and so on. Your brain is trying to protect you from the pain of any or all of those things.

2. Thank your brain.

No, really. Out loud, with authenticity. After all, it is trying to protect you. To keep you from feeling pain. It thinks it is doing a good thing. Thank it. "Thank you brain for trying to keep me out of harm's way. How wonderful that I have a built-in security system!"

3. Come up with a workaround.

Identify the positives of doing this and how the pain that your brain is assuming is actually a very minor impact. The greater impact will be doing it. "I'm putting this out there for me. Not for views, not for likes. To add value to the world. What if there is someone out there right now that could use this information and I didn't put it out? I can help with this, aren't we called to help others?

4. Check in.

Once you start coming up with positive reframes to quell your overprotective brain, do a body check. Does it feel comfortable? Did your body accept it? Or do you feel tension or anxiety, like you are forcing it? Keep working on your statements until your body signals that your brain is okay with it.

5. Write it down.

Once you find the place of acceptance, capture the process. The original negative thought, the ways your brain was trying to protect you, and the new acceptance statements. You may need to come back and have this conversation again.

If we step back for a greater perspective and realize our brain is on our side, we can quit any of those statements above. This will then give us one giant step toward reaching our next goal or dream!
