We’re delighted to officially welcome PlayStation ?to Hitmarker! ??

A full introduction isn’t really necessary, as PlayStation has been at the forefront of interactive and digital entertainment since the debut of its first console back in 1994.

Now, bigger than ever, PlayStation hires constantly in over two dozen locations around the world including Liverpool (four vacancies) and London (15 vacancies) right here in the UK ????.

Typically, you’ll find around 100 PlayStation vacancies on Hitmarker. The vast majority are found in the USA ????, most commonly spread between San Diego, San Francisco, and San Mateo in California. However, PlayStation does also hire in Austin, TX, Bellevue, WA, and Madison, WI, too!

There are also occasional opportunities to be found in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, Malaysia, and the Netherlands, while we have seen some recent opportunities that are available fully remotely, as well. Take a look at absolutely everything available here .

PlayStation proudly proclaims itself as the “Best Place to Play” and the “Best Place to Work”, striving to create an inclusive environment that empowers employees and embraces diversity.

The company offers a global hybrid office/remote working model, a range of employee benefits depending on location, and one of the best internship programs in gaming.

With jobs available in pretty much every sector of the industry, ranging from game production to business development, why not see if there’s something perfect for you at one of PlayStation’s many locations? Check out the full list of PlayStation opportunities on Hitmarker by clicking here .

?? Embracer Group to close multiple studios, and cancel several unannounced projects

  • We're becoming a broken record at this point, we know, but it's hard to get away from layoffs in the video game industry (and beyond) at the moment. Unfortunately, this week the biggest business news from gaming again revolves around cutbacks.
  • Embracer Group, the Swedish parent company of major developers and publishers such as Crystal Dynamics and Plaion, has announced that it will be restructuring following a "challenging year" and the cancellation of a $2 billion partnership.
  • CEO Lars Wingefors announced the program, revealing that it will be carried out in stages with the goal of completion by March 2024. The program is centered on "cost savings, capital allocation, efficiency, and consolidation."

Other news ???

Last week's newsletter covered the many, many gaming showcases happening this month and it's been a struggle to keep up with everything that's been announced so far! ??

Our highlights have been Ubisoft/Massive Entertainment's reveal of Star Wars: Outlaws, the first open-world Star Wars game, the news from Square Enix that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will arrive next year, and Bandai Namco's showcase of an upcoming adaptation of the legendary Akira Toriyama's "Sand Land" manga series.

(Oh, and Diablo IV is crushing it, too! ??)

Here on LinkedIn, our audience is growing at a rate of over 1,000 followers per week, so we're always trying to come up with new, useful content to share. ??

A couple of days ago, we dropped an advice carousel entitled "Applying for Gaming Jobs: Things to Know", and the reaction to it has been mega.

It'll hopefully be useful to a bunch of you, too, as we assume many of you are on the lookout for new opportunities in the industry!

Graphic designers form a huge part of our Twitter audience, so we thought we'd create a bespoke thread for them this week with all of the latest and greatest design opportunities.

Design vacancies are often some of the most competitive on our platform, so if you're tempted to apply for any please, please, please ensure that your portfolio is up-to-date and relevant to the role you're applying to in terms of what you're showcasing. ??

And, if nothing in the thread is a fit, you can see everything related to graphic design (and motion design) on our platform here .

The end ??

Thank you so much for reading and we'll see you same time next Thursday, have a great week!

Best wishes from all of us here in sunny Newcastle,

Rich and the gang at Hitmarker ??
