The Hitman conquers in style getting India its 2nd T20 World Cup

2 consecutive denials in 1 single Year with the World Test Cricket Championship and 50 Overs World Cup - it seemed history would be repeated for the 3rd time in a row within 1 Year - but Barbados compensated for Oval and Ahmedabad disappointment, Congratulations Rohit The Hitman for ensuring we win this ICC T20 World Cup 2024 with resilience and passion. The number 3 factor would surely be a talking point for many (fortune tellers, astrologers, crazy fans) in India as 3rd time Rohit and his bunch of boys were lucky and won the coveted championship. India also had won the 3rd edition of 50 overs World Cup beating the West Indies way back in 1983 and Rohit also becomes only the 3rd Indian Captain after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni to write his name as a proud World Cup Winning Captain, Rohit Jersey number 45 (4+5 =9) multiple of 3 :) . We can find many such links if we want to isn't it as India has won after long wait of 17 years, so all things illogical would sound logical now -that's The Power of a Win ! Since the victory, every possible communication medium (Digital, TV, Print, Radio ) is flooded with only memes, creative posts, jokes on oppositions, moment marketing by brands, interviews, analysis, etc etc. But my heart goes out for the valiant Indian team who ensured comebacks are important than setbacks bouncing back stronger, fitter with the right combination and winning the championship while staying undefeated in the tournament.

?Some Points which caught my attention on the finals which I would like to share here : A true Rohit Special World Cup

?- With over 4.4 overs remaining and just 27 runs remaining - Klassen already having devastated Kuldeep and hammering Axar for 20 odd runs, hitman didn't have much option to look for - that's when he got Hardik (with not very strong first spell) and Klassen gone right in the first ball.

- Then hitman asking Magical Bumrah to bowl the 18th over instead of 19th over inspite of that being his last over as he knew with Jansen being there chances were still bright. Bumrah ensured he bowled Jansen with another classic delivery and making the pressure mount back to South Africa. This also worked for Rohit - another great decision.

- Arshdeep being asked to bowl 19th and last over for his golden boy Pandya was another gamble he took, trusting Pandya to deliver and Pandya having the pressure to bowl the best over of his life, what a situation it was - truly wow !

- Whatever happened in IPL they buried the past and moved on. Rohit trusted Hardik to win the game - Hardik exactly did that finishing Miller and Rabada, thanks to that magical catch by SKY remember Kapil Dev catch wherein he dismissed Viv Richards taking away the match from West Indies in 1983. I felt the same vibration when Miller got out almost taking away the Match got dismissed from a blinder by SKY - the limit, he proved surely :)

- Hitman played a blinder with Aussies and ensured we don't miss the bus to the most dangerous team with Travis Head almost doing it again. The belting he gave to Mitch Starc was as savage as anything , demoralizing them completely. Even Shoaib and other greats couldn't resist saying that as one of the best counter attacks against Aussies.

- He is a character who never jumped or celebrated like Kohli but always wanted to contribute in the best way he knew - through his amazing bat (he still is the best in pull shot in the world as per me). Coming so far and not winning this time would have been a sad end (without any major wins) for such a wonderful captain.

• He also deliberated and discussed strategy with the Coach Rahul Dravid quite often in preparing the best fit team for last few years and that's why the hardwork of 3 to 4 years as the hitman said paid dividends to them through the T20 world cup victory.

?Very well played Captain and Congratulations on winning the World Cup for India, it was a moment where , even if Virat scored the highest - one would remember Axar's blistering cameo of 47 from 31 balls and Rohit's captaincy in defending the total with brilliant captaincy decisions, somewhat like MSD hitting the wining Six during his 79 ball 91 inspite of 97 from Gambhir.

?A Leader always knows his team better than anyone else wrt who can deliver at which level, scale and consistency. In a team also - There are Passionate team members, there are team members with Potential and also the ones with Performance, we need to respect and retain each one to find the best winning combination depending on a situation. No one is better than the other - At times a Passionate guy can bring you result or the one with Potential can take the risk , not necessary the guy with Performance record alone can succeed or work every time. A Leader should decide his army and the role, needs to keep the dug out charged up, hone them and make them ready for the next level by giving opportunities, assurance of support and creating harmony to express themselves - a great learning from the Finals.
