The HITESH Mindset: 20-Article Reflection on Life, Learning & Leadership

"The pain of regret is worse than the pain of trying and failing."

Over the past three months, I've shared 20 articles around my personal growth journey and broader themes of self-improvement. Each article is a reflection of lessons learned and timeless wisdom gained from books, articles, videos, and personal experiences.

Reflecting on these last few months of writing, I've realized certain central themes and messages flow throughout my articles, each crucial for the progress I've seen in all aspects of my life, which have been transformative.

To keep these themes top of mind, I created an acronym from my name, Hitesh, that summarizes my current mindset... The HITESH Mindset.

The HITESH Mindset: Purpose & Continuous Improvement to Meaning & Fulfillment

H - Holistic Well-being

  • Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual

I - Introspection & Imagination

I believe that If You…

Have a balanced approach to well-being

Practice daily self-reflection

Dream BIG?

Make consistent incremental steps of progress

Understand yourself?

Expect and embrace adversity

Know It all starts and ends with You

and Create sustainable long-term growth habits

... You will live a life of Purpose and Continuous Improvement, leading to Meaning and Fulfillment.

As a reminder, the purpose behind this newsletter goes beyond personal reflection, aiming to also share wisdom and inspire growth:

  • For Me: Document life lessons for future reflection.
  • For Maya: Wisdom for my daughter to draw upon in the future.
  • For Growth: Improve my thinking, communication, and creativity through the practice of writing and connecting my favorite quotes, life lessons, and books.
  • For You: Perspectives that might resonate with your life and leadership journey.

Life is both extremely challenging and deeply satisfying. For me, being guided by purpose and continuous improvement help navigate these inevitable challenges, instilling a foundation on how to live life on a daily basis filled with meaning and fulfillment.

With this foundation in mind, let's dive into how this journey has been shared and received:

Newsletter FYI's:

  • First article posted Jan 17, 2024. Twentieth posted Apr 17, 2024 (20 articles in 3 months)

The newsletter analytics from the first three months have been surprising given this was/is a passion project with no set path:

LinkedIn Newsletter Analytics (Jan 17 to Apr 17, 2024):

The engagement goes beyond numbers, shown by some of the positive feedback I’ve received. Here are some responses, all appreciated.

  • "Hey Hitesh, thanks for sharing your journey! I appreciate your story and the insights as I can relate.. I look forward to reading your content and all the best!!"
  • "Hey man I just read your newsletter, that was inspiring to read. Really happy to see how well you’re doing, especially with the lifestyle changes you’ve made. I haven’t cut out alcohol completely, but it’s down at least 95% compared to before. The amount of pressure you get from others to keep getting f’ed up, even now in our 40’s, is crazy. Keep up the great work!"
  • "What up bro! U r LinkedIn posts are awesome!! Keep it rolling"
  • "Happy new year Hitesh! Hey just wanted to let you know I love your thought leadership articles. My favorite so far is the one around empathy today. You’ve managed to keep these authentic as well. Keep doing this, looking forward to more!"

Frequency of Posts:

LinkedIn has you pick frequency (daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly) of posts when creating a newsletter, however, I'm not sure I'll be following one of these options. I'll simply be posting when I feel like it. This is a passion project with no time constraints or pressure.

#WolfMentality

I keep thinking of myself as a wolf climbing a mountain.

Cool, calm, collected, head held high, just moving forward, no matter what.

Over, under, left, right, through—no matter what, I just keep moving forward.

It's a massive mountain. I can't see the top, just a bunch of mist.

But I just keep climbing, no matter what.

I'm a relentless, hungry wolf who just keeps moving forward.

And I wouldn't want it any other way.

"The wolf climbing the hill is hungrier than the wolf on top of the hill."

No Excuses. No Regrets.

Great things happen to me.

I'm built for this.

"The pain of regret is worse than the pain of trying and failing."

Agreed Hitesh Patel ?? Regret is the worst pain that ever happens in life. So, I prefer trying again and again instead of regret. ????
