HIT Like A Girl's Response to the Recent SCOTUS Rulings

At HIT Like A Girl Pod, we firmly believe in the principles of fairness, equality, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or any other distinguishing characteristics. In this context, we're very disappointed and concerned over the recent rulings of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).

Firstly, the decision to allow a website designer to discriminate against members of the LGBTQIA+ community is one that we find deeply troubling. This ruling effectively relegates this group to second-class citizen status by suggesting that their rights are negotiable based on personal or religious beliefs. We categorically reject this notion and continue to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community??. We believe differences should be celebrated and protected rather than used to justify discrimination.

Secondly, the ruling against affirmative action also signals a troubling shift in the Court's approach toward social justice issues. Affirmative action is a policy tool designed to level the playing field and provide equal opportunities for historically marginalized and disadvantaged groups. By ruling against it, SCOTUS is, in essence, denying the persistent inequalities that continue to plague our society.

Our current society does not reflect the equitable, diverse, and inclusive society we aspire to create. Inequalities in opportunities and outcomes persist, and policies like affirmative action are critical tools in the ongoing effort to address these disparities.

At HIT Like A Girl Pod, we will continue to advocate for the rights of all individuals, regardless of who they are or where they come from. We remain committed to building a more equal, inclusive, and just society and will not let these rulings deter us from our mission.

We stand firm in our belief that everyone deserves respect, dignity, and equal treatment under the law. Today's setbacks will not weaken our resolve, but rather, they will strengthen our determination to fight for justice and equality for all.
