History in the Making, but Not for the Right Reasons

History in the Making, but Not for the Right Reasons

Pakistan witnessed an unprecedented tragedy as authorities fired live ammunition at protestors for the first time in the nation's history. The clashes in Islamabad have left people dead and injured. Tear gas was used which is a norm these days but in and unprecedent move live fire were used against citizens marching for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, exercising what should have been their constitutional right to peaceful protest.

This is a dark moment for Pakistan. Violence and chaos cannot be the solution to political disagreement. When the lives of ordinary citizens are lost, the soul of our nation suffers. No matter where one stands politically, the use of such extreme force is unacceptable.

We must collectively step back and reflect: How did we get here? And more importantly, how can we move forward without further destruction? This is a time for dialogue, wisdom, and restraint from all sides—government, opposition, and citizens alike. Let us demand accountability, not just for this incident but also for the future of how we handle dissent in our democracy.

To everyone involved: Let us prioritize humanity and peace over power struggles. It's not too late to choose a path that heals rather than harms.
