Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans did something we haven't seen since the great Jerry Rice. Evans reached 1,000 receiving yards in the regular season finale for the 11th consecutive season.
To be mentioned in the same sentence as Jerry Rice is a dream come true for any wide receiver. Evans has been through it all with the Bucs organization. His production and commitment have been the same, from mediocre to championships, since he entered the league in 2014.
With his record, Evans earned a $3 million bonus. It was a historic Week 18 finish at Raymond James Stadium. Evans got the record and celebrated with his teammates, and the Bucs clinched the NFC South division for the fourth straight season, which is the most in their franchise history.
The Bucs will host the wild-card game against Washington on Sunday, Jan 12, at 8 pm EST on NBC/Peacock.
Tampa and Washington will meet for the fourth time in their playoff history. The Bucs won the last matchup in the wild-card game in 2021, 31-23. They went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
