A Historic and Transformative Moment

When I stepped into the role of CEO in 2012, I set a vision for BDO – Transformation, Synergy and Excellence. Today, as the BDO leadership team announces one of the most significant moments in our firm’s 113-year-old history, it’s clear this foundational work is profoundly relevant as we move into the next chapter of our shared journey.?

BDO USA plans to establish an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). An ESOP is the realization of everything our people-first, purpose-driven firm stands for. It is the embodiment of who we are. It enables us to unlock the value of our firm today while sustaining a caring and resilient business for tomorrow. It also provides an opportunity to invest and share in each other’s success.?

The landscape of our profession has changed, and we must adapt. Looking forward, we continue to find ways to build a sustainable and resilient future, just as we did in 2012 when we first set out to transform BDO from a successful 20th century firm to a 21st century powerhouse.?

While I feel we’ve achieved that lofty goal, we need to continue to evolve and grow with the world around us. As we look around the bend to our collective future, I’m confident we will. Today’s announcement is an important part of this continued work and our next chapter.

Working together as One BDO, we are pursuing a bold vision of what our firm and profession can be to our people, our clients and our communities. This is part of our history and our legacy. It’s also our strategy and future.?

I’m proud of our strength, resilience and the significant decisions we’ve made over the past 113 years. I am even prouder of the game-changing journey we are about to embark upon and our extraordinary path forward.
