Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month Means Celebrating Our Culture, Our Heritage and Access to Economic Opportunity
Hispanic Heritage Month gives us a chance to celebrate the presence and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans from a diversity of Spanish-speaking countries. We take the opportunity to celebrate not just our heritage and culture but also the people. The past generations on whose shoulders we stand on would be proud of how far we have come, knowing there’s still plenty of work ahead. In my opinion, the best way to celebrate who we are and what we represent is by ensuring we create a world where our kids and future generations can go as far as their work and effort will take them. Access to economic opportunity is woven thru our Hispanic fabric; we should do everything possible to strengthen it.
Yesterday, I read something that made me think that we just might be on the right track. According to the recently released Census Bureau’s annual income report, the median household income for Hispanics rose to $50,486 last year. This is a new record and it’s one that I hope will be broken again and again. There’s simply no such thing as too much prosperity and, during this month, we should take the opportunity to celebrate our heritage, culture and economic progress.
Above all, let’s keep in mind that no matter where we’re from, we’re all one big family in search of a brighter tomorrow. Going forward, let’s get behind the people and the policies that will ensure we have something bigger to celebrate every year. #Hispanics #Latinos #Wealth #Opportunity #HispanicHeritage #Jobs #StrongEconomy

6 年Excellent article, our ancestors would be so proud to know that we strive day in day out to become better individuals and to make them proud of everything that they sacrificed for our success. All of this of course would not have been possible without “ God “ !
