Job Title:Stress Engineer

Job Description

General Summary: 

Serves as subject matter expert to stress engineers in composite and metallic primary structure group.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as subject matter expert stress engineer responsible for metallic primary structure.
2. Provides leadership and guidance to stress engineers working on certification, analysis and testing.
3. Works with FAA DER’s and structural testing.
4. Provides recommendations and status updates to management.

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field required. MS preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Experience writing certification stress reports.
2. Competent classic hand analysis (Bruhn, Peery, Roark, ESDU) methods as well as FEA.
3. Ability to explain and present analysis and assumptions in a rational manner.
4. Knowledge with 3D solid modeling (CATIA v5, Unigraphics).
5. Exposure to FINITE Element Analysis (NASTRAN, ABAQUS).
6. Exposure to programming languages (Python, VB Matlab).
