Job Title:Stress Engineer
Job Description
General Summary:
Serves as subject matter expert to stress engineers in composite and metallic primary structure group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as subject matter expert stress engineer responsible for metallic primary structure.
- Provides leadership and guidance to stress engineers working on certification, analysis and testing.
- Works with FAA DER’s and structural testing.
- Provides recommendations and status updates to management.
Qualifications
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field required. MS preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience writing certification stress reports.
- Competent classic hand analysis (Bruhn, Peery, Roark, ESDU) methods as well as FEA.
- Ability to explain and present analysis and assumptions in a rational manner.
- Knowledge with 3D solid modeling (CATIA v5, Unigraphics).
- Exposure to FINITE Element Analysis (NASTRAN, ABAQUS).
- Exposure to programming languages (Python, VB Matlab).
