While this approach covers the candidate’s subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and professional expertise, it often overlooks a crucial dimension: the educator's personality and emotional intelligence.

This is where the role of a talented psychologist becomes essential in the hiring panel. Psychologists can assess aspects of a candidate that are difficult to measure using conventional interview techniques, such as soft skills, personality traits, and values. By observing the candidate's body language, mannerisms, speech, and behavior, a psychologist can provide deeper insight into whether the individual possesses the qualities necessary to be an effective role model for children.
