Hire, Fire and Promote People In Your Personal Life

When you think about it, business and life are pretty transactional. I pay you, you show up, give me your time, talent, and energy, and we both win. But when you stop delivering, I stop paying. And when I stop paying, you stop showing up. It’s a clear exchange, but when it comes to our personal lives, we complicate it. Family, friends, neighbors, old relationships – we hold onto people longer than we should, even when they’ve outstayed their welcome. Why? Because we don’t always have that transactional mindset with them, and it makes things messy. We let people linger in our lives who aren’t adding value anymore.
