Hindsight is 20/20 Unless You're #CES2022.
Two years ago questions were raised about whether or not CES2020 was one of the first COVID super spreader events. At the time many online articles asked the right questions.

Unfortunately few answers appear afterwards. Online searches seemingly fail to show if any serious contact tracing was ever completed to determine the actual impact that CES 2020 ultimately had on the global spread of the virus. From the show's perspective CES 2020 dodged a bullet. CES 2020 never officially got labelled as a super spreader event. Show organizers were never held accountable.
Two years later, with Omicron spreading in record numbers globally; #CES2022 seems determined to go on despite several of the larger exhibitors like Google, Amazon, Lenovo, Microsoft and Intel pulling out of the event at the last minute. While most of the attendees will be masked and vaccinated, is it worth the risk to attend or worse exhibit? Congratulations to those companies who refuse to risk the health and well-being of their customers and their employees by not attending. Many instead are offering virtual exhibits which should be whole-heartedly supported.
George Santayana once wrote, 'Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Considering the deaths and economic devastation the first waves of the virus have had upon the global community; one can only hope that the organizers of #CES2022 do ALL they can to lessen the impact of the current Omicron wave. Regardless of your decision to attend, readers of this post cannot claim they were not warned about the potential dangers of attending #CES2022 in person.
Do what you can to make sure 2022 does not become 2020 too!
