The government wants to expand the use of #electricvehicles in the country. However, the budget allocated for 2023-24 only includes Rs 180 crore for chargers out of Rs 5,171.97 crore allocated for the FAME Phase II scheme.#electricbuses will receive around Rs 3,000 crores in the Union Budget for 2023-24. The paltry sum of Rs 180 crores for chargers is all the more shocking as the second phase’s main objective was to create the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
The transport department of #delhi would soon begin a feasibility study on converting government trucks to #electrictrucks in order to reduce Delhi’s pollution levels.The International Council on Clean Transportation or ICCT will begin the study next week. Its recommendations will be presented in a few months.The size of the battery required will be determined by the cost.?Also, charging infrastructure will be required.

A spokesperson for the Himachal Government said that a green-mobility committee has been formed to monitor and promote sustainable solutions in Shimla.It added that they would help with organizing workshops, capacity-building programs, and defining an action plan and timelines in addition to merging existing schemes in order to expedite project execution.
