Hilton's Second Quarter Earnings Results

Today we are reporting our earnings results for the second quarter of 2020, and I am reminded of the many lessons our Hilton family has learned so far throughout this pandemic – lessons about resilience, ingenuity and dedication to our communities, company and each other. When I reflect on the first half of the year, I am inspired by how quickly our Team Members rose to the challenge and how nimbly they’ve adapted to our new circumstances. These results illustrate the extremely difficult business realities we faced in the second quarter – and as we anticipated, the pandemic and the related decreases in global travel materially affected our business. We saw historically low occupancy rates worldwide in April, but have since seen global occupancy and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) show signs of improvement. This quarter we took bold steps to advance our recovery and deliver safe, flexible and innovative experiences for our guests and customers.

Our recent highlights include:

• 96% of our global portfolio is open and operating
• Announcing a strategic development partnership with Country Garden to bring more than 1,000 Home2 Suites by Hilton to China
• Launching Hilton EventReady with CleanStay, creating a higher standard for the future of meetings and events
