We have been creating Healthy Communities for All for over 125 years by aligning housing, health and human services.
We are very excited to welcome one of our newest board members, Bill Duncan.
Bill serves as the global head of Hilton’s All Suites and Focused Service Category, overseeing Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton along with Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Tru by Hilton.
In his role, Bill, a 32-year veteran of Hilton, leads the integration of core management functions, and development of long-term shared operational, performance and growth strategies for the All-Suites and Focused Service Category, the largest division of Hilton with a combined total of more than 4,650 open hotels and a global pipeline of more than 1,800 properties.
Deeply engaged in both professional and civic organizations, Bill has been recognized for several industry and community awards throughout his distinguished career, including the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association’s “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing,” Volunteer Memphis Corporate Executive Leadership Award, and Books for Kids Outstanding Literacy Leadership Award.
A champion of social justice and literacy, Bill has been involved in a variety of charities, and has served on numerous boards, including the National Coalition for the Homeless, Catholic Charities, Clean the World, and now VOACC.
We asked Bill a few questions…
What about VOACC inspired you to join the BOD?
As someone who cherishes the opportunity to serve others both professionally and through civic endeavors, I was particularly drawn to the synergies between the hospitality industry and Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas. The effect that organizations and businesses have on our communities is powerful and the work that VOACC does to transform lives and inspire hope creates positive opportunities not only for those who most need support now, but for our future generations.?
