July 5, 2020: Hillsborough County Covid cases continue to climb, regularly breaking previous day records and hitting 19 days in a row over the average number of new cases per day.
Hillsborough County has hit the 1000/100K case mark. The current slope and growth of cases in Hillsborough remains on target to hit the NYC level plateau of 2000/100K cases by early August if no significant change occurs soon.
Hillsborough County did implement a mask ordinance on June 22, 2020 and Florida has restricted alcohol service at bars as of June 26, 2020. We will have to see if these changes impact the current direction of rapid new case growth.

4 年The number of cases seems to be irrelevant given the number of deaths is decreasing. On a per capita basis Florida is ranked 26th while New York is # 1 both in total and per capita. Florida should not be compared to NY. Plus our Governor didn't force people with Covid-19 back into nursing homes! Don't take my word look at the data https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
