"Hillbilly Elegy" - reprised

The leader of the free world is about to go into terminal decline. The average Joe who is mostly unaware or unbothered about what goes on 50 miles up or down from where they are situated - will be electing leaders who simply cannot concern themselves with geopolitical realities.

I can picture the Chinese leader and his Russian cohort rubbing their hands in glee as the USA readies to abandon NATO, Europe, Asia and Africa to the Axis - China, Russia, Iran.

Speaking with a leading exporter who once had clients from North Africa to South: From Ghana, Tanzania to Zimbabwe, now finds business restricted to just Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire as the Chinese with state support have swamped markets at throwaway prices.

Now JD Vance wants to abandon Ukraine to save a few pennies. That is tantamount to letting Russia walk away with the largest wheat, sunflower growing region in the world. That too after keeping Crimea! A gift for Putin.

Hungary & other eastern Bloc nations are already rumbling with pro Putin feelings that any withdrawal of support for NATO will be like providing oxygen for these sentiments to become a raging fire.

India, pushed to the wall by the Chinese by their "slicing" and "string of pearls strategy" will have no option but to move towards the axis. Pakistan is lost and soon Vietnam, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, in fact the whole of South Asia will be silenced.

Immigrants, Innovation and Democracy - the 3 pillars of the American dream will in the next decade will wither away with "redneck" squint eyed politics. Geography never was Trump's strong suite!

China does not have to attack the USA directly. By cutting off Europe and Asia and Africa the Americans would themselves hand over leadership of the world to China.

Free speech, freedom etc that we take for granted will be just pipe dreams in a decade. The USA once restricted to the American mainland will also slowly be sliced and diced and in many ways the opioid and drug epidemic raging there will only be a trailer.

A Trumpian world would echo the famous George Orwell quote from 1984 :-

"War is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength"

We will soon find ourselves in the society that Winston found himself in.
