Consequently, the use of Poli-hydroxy-acid (see Terenzio 2003 Patent - GlucoHumates, Italy), as well as Poli-uronic acid (see Terenzio 2009 Patent - Humoalginates, Italy), allows to "protect" the helpful fractions of the fossil material before the extraction, thus resulting in humic extracts characterized by a high agronomical efficacy regardless of the pedoclimatic conditions. The use of folic acid (see Terenzio 2014 Patent - Best Green Technology Inc, Usa) leads to humic extracts with a high stimulating activity towards the foliar apparatus and the roots, with an increase in the quantity of the yields and an improvement in their quality. This has been proved on an international scale. It is not just a simple blend of humic extracts and folic acids: the folic acid is added in the extraction process of the humic acids from fossils with a high humification level. It is fundamental to tell these two application processes apart and to carefully evaluate the differences between them, since the resulting products are completely different from one another as well as their actions on plants and soil.

Throughout the years, it has been proved that the use of oligosaccharides with a specific degree of polymerization in the extraction process of some humic acids from fossil material (first of all Leonardite) allows to improve the efficacy of a humic extract, both in soil and leaf application. The choice of the oligosaccharides with a certain degree of polymerization depends on the purpose in the use of humic acids.
