HERO - A person a quest to empower others to achieve more.
I am so blessed to have meet the great leaders and expand my diverse network at Microsoft Ready 2018. I was really happy to embrace the growth mindset and learned valuable knowledge that will help fueled my passion for Microsoft. One Microsoft Academy for College Hires (MACH) session that stuck out to me the most is Haben Girma advocacy for for inclusion in accessibility for those with disabilities. She had a remarkable message and forever changed my perspective in accessibility and technology.
"Find your purpose"- Haben Girma
With ambitions to visit as many technical workshops and fireside chats that were of interests to me. The sessions were all engaging and sparked ideas for me to bring back to my team. I loved the fact that Microsoft is so diverse. They commit to growth mindset and working on diversity and inclusion within the company.
The most influential fireside chats were Judson Althoff and Chris Capossela. The main takeaways were hearing Judson's story about his journey "iterative refinement" constantly improving skills at a pace you can handle. Then Chris Capossela energy is so explosive to be around. He has a great ability to pour that energy into the audience out when he speaks about his life. His experiences reminded me of my journey here and to come at Microsoft.
I was truly impressed about the overall planning and details that went into making my first Microsoft Ready a experience one to remember.
I am a empowered HERO at Microsoft.
