Highlights from Six Months of Exhibitions at Yeo Workshop

1. Who is Weaving the Sky Net? (2 Nov 2024 - 5 Jan 2025)

Voted Worldwide Top International Openings in November by Berlin Art Link Magazine , this group show curated by Do Tuong Linh features eight artists exploring textiles as symbols for the fabric of our universe and the roles we play in it. Drawing inspiration from reflections on science and Buddhist philosophy, the exhibition ponders the interconnectedness of reality.

Featuring: Dinh Thi Tham Poong, Doan Van Toi, Leila Seyedzadeh, Keith Khanh Truong, Lai Thi Dieu Ha, Tra My Nguyen, Woo Hannah, Tran Thao Mien.

2. Wei Leng Tay: Staring into voids and blues (14 Sep - 27 Oct 2024)

"Staring into Voids and Blues" explores how photography shapes memory and history. Using archival images transformed by digital and physical processes, Tay connects private and public histories, inviting new interpretations of images and the narratives they hold.

3. Shayne Phua: A roast of Asian nine tails topped with broken femur and bile, accompanied by more curious ingredients (20 Jul - 1 Sep 2024)

In her debut solo exhibition at Yeo Workshop, ceramic artist Shayne Phua presents surreal sculptures that critique socio-political themes in contemporary Singapore, drawing inspiration from 'Asian values' and Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio.

4. The Not Singapore Art Project: Migration to the Internet Country and Portable Identity. A flash solo by Ng Joon Kiat (18 May - 30 Jun 2024)

In his first solo exhibition, Ng uses watercolor and mixed media to explore identity and belonging as a nomadic citizen in a digital age, challenging traditional boundaries and redefining contemporary painting's role.

5. Storytellers: Mythic Journeys and Modern Realities (17 Feb - 12 May 2024)

"Storytellers: Mythic Journeys and Modern Realities" featured artists Citra Sasmita, Filippo Sciascia, Quynh Dong, Maryanto, Fyerool Darma, & Anum Mohamed, who explore connections between ancient mythologies & contemporary reflections through various mediums. The exhibition invited viewers to reflect on the intersections of myth, culture, & modernity.
