Highlights from IPMI: LPR Innovations and Trends

Exciting news! Two weeks ago, my team from CARRIDA Technologies GmbH and I attended the IPMI PARKING & MOBILITY CONFERENCE & EXPO trade show in Columbus. It’s amazing to see how far License Plate Recognition technology has come: Eight years ago, when we first attended the event, LPR was new and not widely accepted. Today, numerous companies have integrated the technology into their systems. At the conference, I had many great conversations about this growth. I am excited about the future and look forward to continuing our journey in the US.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth. It was fantastic to discuss how LPR technology can support your projects! In this newsletter, I’ll recap the highlights of our participation and share insights into the latest developments and trends in LPR.

Tailored Solutions for the US Market

In preparation for the trade show, we specifically trained our software to meet the needs of the US market. We went in with the confidence that our license plate recognition technology was well-prepared and ready to impress. The positive feedback we received showed that our preparations were successful. Many visitors were impressed with our license plate recognition capabilities, and we are looking forward to new opportunities and partnerships that arise.

Plate-i: Compact and Reliable LPR

Following the success of our CARRIDA Dragon + ALPR Camera, customers and industry professionals have asked for an even more compact and lower-priced LPR solution. Our Plate-i Family, including the Plate-i Basic and the new Plate-i Dome, has been specially designed to meet these requirements. To further improve their functionality, both variants now feature an integrated AI chip, that enables make-and-model recognition directly on the camera and without impacting the onboard ANPR processing.

This enhancement allows the cameras to provide advanced traffic statistics, making them ideal for a variety of applications, including parking lot management and charging infrastructure for e-mobility. With their entry-level price, they are also interesting for smart home systems and other price-sensitive use cases. By choosing the Plate-i Series, you gain access to cutting-edge LPR technology that is both versatile and cost-effective, helping you streamline your operations and enhance efficiency.

Plate-i Dome: Flexible license plate reading up to 16 m

Our new Plate-i Dome in particular is characterized by its functions. With its integrated zoom, it can detect plates and vehicle types up to 16 meters away, providing reliable performance in various settings. The camera’s compact housing ensures strong protection against vandalism and environmental influences, allowing for easy integration and long-lasting durability.

Don’t miss future LPR Updates

Thank you for joining me on this journey through the latest innovations in LPR technology. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how these innovations can support your projects, please contact me.

For those who couldn’t attend the IPMI Trade Show, stay tuned for more updates and insights in the upcoming issues of this newsletter. I look forward to keeping you informed about the latest trends and breakthroughs in license plate recognition and embedded vision technology.
