Highlights from a historic week

For a while everything has been quiet on the Role Models and Heroes list…expected leaders failing to boost motivation and enthusiasm for being part of the space program. One starts to wonder if role models and mentors are something that belong to the past, that you only seek and need and have when you grow up…Then this week started to roll out with an energy like I haven’t seen in a while:

#Inspiration_Tuesday: Elon Musk fc/ SpaceX picture perfect Falcon Heavy launch+beautifully synchronized twin boosters recovery& precision landing reassuring us that space exploration is not only realistic but affordable (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0-pfzKbh2k )

#Leadership_Wednesday: Dan Rasky on a roll on the Commercial Space Telecon reminding the agency that it should never stop exploring, identifying and discussing options (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLfy7NPxjtg&index=2&list=PL6vdik5frDGVL4USjKgYkJoOb76_7sdkS )

#Truth_Thursday: Lori Garver interviewed by Jeremy Hobson (aired on Bay Areas’ KQED radio) discussing the “complicated reasons” for purchasing flights/vehicles at $1Bn/year instead of $90M... “Government cost plus contracts aren’t really designed to incentivize innovation” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaVuOUjhuZ0

Can't wait to see what's going to be the hash tag tomorrow....
