Highest BNI Chapter Meeting in History
On March 23rd 2024, a group of BNI trekkers will set off on an adventure of a lifetime to take part in the highest BNI Chapter meeting in the world to raise money for the BNI Foundation UK. From initial conversations with member Joe Alexander of Alexander Adventures, Alasdair Ross, Executive Director of BNI Northumbria and Gill Sawdon, Executive Director of BNI Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire and Chair of Trustees of BNI Foundation UK the idea was born!
Then the BNI network did its magic, from finding adventurers and sponsors to come along for the ride. Trekkers came from far and wide, with Ali, Joe and Keith from BNI Northumbria, Gill, Ummar, Chris, Jo, Andy and Rachel from BNI Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire, Carrie from BNI Berkshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, Jenni, Tim, Mark, Tom and Mike from BNI Central London & The City, Ziggy from BNI London East, Paul from BNI Greater Manchester South, Enrico and Markus from BNI Tirol, Austria and Markus from BNI RheinRhur, Germany - what a line up to take on this epic adventure.

The trek will take the team on an iconic journey through the Nepal Himalayas to Everest Base Camp, following in the footsteps of legendary mountaineers like Edmund Hillary, from the exciting flight into Lukla (the worlds most dangerous airport!) to the breathtaking views from Kala Pattar. When the team reach Base Camp, they will take part in the worlds highest ever BNI meeting, with a top table of Ali, Gill and Joe to guide proceedings.
This adventure is the largest fundraiser that the BNI Foundation UK has embarked on since the success of Miles of Giving and achieving charity status in 2020. The Chair of Trustees, Gill Sawdon is hoping to see their fundraising and Givers Gain Grant giving reach £100,000 this year, which will result in the charity gifting over a 100 grants to great projects, causes, youth group and schools across the UK supporting children, education and learning and those children where opportunities are limited due to financial instability. Gill, as Chair of Trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank all trekkers for taking part, thank sponsors for supporting the trek and anyone who has donated - it is an incredible driver that will keep us all going on those hard days! Thank-you.
